Procurement Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support our purchasing and supply chain operations. This role plays a key part in identifying cost-saving opportunities, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring seamless coordination between vendors and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate purchasing data to uncover opportunities for savings through supplier consolidation and strategic contract negotiations.
Serve as a liaison across departments to resolve procurement-related concerns and streamline purchasing activities.
Assist in the development and execution of supplier and commodity strategies that align with manufacturing and procurement goals.
Track and report on the status of urgent and delayed material orders.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to material shortages and problematic parts.
Support the configuration and implementation of ERP, JIT, Kanban, and other logistics tools. Maintain accurate item and planning data for effective MRP/ERP processes.
Record vendor meeting discussions and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required.
1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Professional certifications such as ISM or APICS are a plus.
Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and data analysis.
Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Access, and cloud-based collaboration tools.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
Must be eligible to work with ITAR-controlled products and data.
