Quality Assurance Technician
Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Quality Assurance Technician with hands-on experience in First Article Inspections (FAIs) and a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). This role involves performing accurate inspections of components and assemblies to verify compliance with technical drawings and established quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
Complete and document First Article Inspections (FAIs) according to AS9102 or comparable industry guidelines.
Interpret complex engineering blueprints and apply GD&T principles effectively.
Ensure all products meet design specifications and quality requirements.
Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records within the company’s quality system.
Participate in investigations related to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Report inspection results and quality issues to engineers, production staff, and suppliers when necessary.
Help maintain and calibrate measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Support ongoing quality improvements and uphold the organization’s standards for excellence.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; technical training or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in quality inspection or a manufacturing setting.
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T as defined by ASME Y14.5.
Direct experience conducting FAIs and completing related documentation (e.g., AS9102).
Proficient with measurement tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Familiar with quality frameworks like ISO 9001 or AS9100.
Excellent attention to detail, written documentation, and organizational skills.
Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
