Quality Assurance Technician

Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Quality Assurance Technician with hands-on experience in First Article Inspections (FAIs) and a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). This role involves performing accurate inspections of components and assemblies to verify compliance with technical drawings and established quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

  • Complete and document First Article Inspections (FAIs) according to AS9102 or comparable industry guidelines.

  • Interpret complex engineering blueprints and apply GD&T principles effectively.

  • Ensure all products meet design specifications and quality requirements.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records within the company’s quality system.

  • Participate in investigations related to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Report inspection results and quality issues to engineers, production staff, and suppliers when necessary.

  • Help maintain and calibrate measurement tools and inspection equipment.

  • Support ongoing quality improvements and uphold the organization’s standards for excellence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; technical training or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

  • At least 3 years of experience in quality inspection or a manufacturing setting.

  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T as defined by ASME Y14.5.

  • Direct experience conducting FAIs and completing related documentation (e.g., AS9102).

  • Proficient with measurement tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.

  • Familiar with quality frameworks like ISO 9001 or AS9100.

  • Excellent attention to detail, written documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
