The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and documentation of industrial control systems. This role focuses on control panel design, electrical schematics, layouts, and bills of materials, while supporting automation projects and manufacturing operations in a collaborative engineering environment.
Design and document industrial control panels, including electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials
Develop control system designs using AutoCAD Electrical
Support automation and controls projects from concept through implementation
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to define control requirements
Ensure control system designs align with applicable electrical standards and best practices
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving control system and panel-related issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to controls, safety, and system reliability
Maintain accurate and organized technical documentation for control systems
Provide technical support during system build, testing, and commissioning phases
Perform other related duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience designing industrial control panels and control systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
Understanding of industrial control system architecture and components
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
