Position Overview
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, and support of industrial control and instrumentation systems. This role focuses on integrating field devices, sensors, and control hardware with PLC and SCADA systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Design and specify instrumentation including sensors, transmitters, valves, and control devices
Configure and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and HMI systems
Develop control logic and functional descriptions
Review and modify P&IDs and electrical schematics
Support system commissioning, loop checks, and startup activities
Perform calibration and validation of instrumentation systems
Conduct root cause analysis for system faults and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Maintain technical documentation and change management records
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
Experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems
Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar
Understanding of process control principles and industrial networking
Ability to interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Experience in manufacturing, utilities, or process industries
Exposure to DCS systems
Knowledge of control panel design and field wiring standards
